I'll second that. I broke a bolt last year on my engine and proceeded to get myself a set of easy outs. Everything was fine until the easy out snapped inside the bolt, this led to some very colourful language coming from my garage, and a trip to my engine builder to fix the problem. His sarcastic comment was that you should require a licence to use easy outs.
They can work, but they can also cause bigger problems, just be careful.
