Just to confirm. I had a good discussion with my auto paint supplier to ascertain if I should go back to bare metal for a top finish. (My car is in original (Japan) factory baked enamel which is still in very good condition). His recommendation was a definitely dont rub it right back, as the paint base is in good condition and the panels are straight.
