About the only other thing you have to watch is that some low pressure pumps dont like running flat strap all the time, or they die after about 3 months, so if you are using one of these pumps to fill the surge tank make sure you put some kind of restrictor between the pump and the surge tank. The instructions that come with the pump should indicate wether they need this or not. I have killed a couple by ignoring that little fact.
