Terry up here in Qld if you go over the 2.5 x kg rule then you need engineers cert. but my mate got his L20 turbo 1200 ute blue tagged the other day, and guy didn't even start it, drive it or anything just looked at it. and he's got a 4 link rear end. He did it as a mod for the motor and then a mod for the turbo.

There must be some very sensible car fanatics that work in in the RTA in those states, I've encountered on most occasions nothing but dickheads in every other state and territory that I've ever had dealings with (over 30 years worth.) > > regards > Terry > > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Ben C > Sent: Thursday, 25 July 2002 9:35 AM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: engineers certificate q > > > well once the roadworthy guy signs the form...i go in and get a mod plate attached to the firewall....so i cant see it being any problem > > -----Original Message----- > From: "Terry Rudd" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Date: Wed, 24 Jul 2002 20:52:15 +1000 > Subject: RE: engineers certificate q > > I'd keep a copy of that letter tucked away safely in your glove box as I can't imagine that you'll convince the average cop at 3am that you're legal if he's smarter than the average an picks that you've got a turbo on board. I speak from a recent experience I had in my 1600 in NSW near Windsor on the Putty Rd on my way back to the ACT from Qld. We weren't going anywhere until I produced about 10 years worth of paper work - the cop was gob smacked, as he thought he'd snared a re-birth. > > regards > Terry > > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Ben C > Sent: Wednesday, 24 July 2002 7:10 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: engineers certificate q > > > wrote to the department of transport detailing what im doing...they wrote back saying, just go get a roadworthy inspection place to look at it and your done > > --membersozdat------------------------------------------------------- OZDAT Mailing List Please Note:- Send (un)subscribe requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Send submissions to [EMAIL PROTECTED] No unauthorised redistribution of this email http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/index.htm http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/listindex.html http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------
