Rob,
With a 4 point cage in WA you still need to apply thru transport but doesnt mean
they will pass it.They dont seem to have a problem with pillarless cars.It just
depends on the mood they're in on the day. There pretty hopeless.A mate put in an
application 4 weeks ago for a supercharged v6 comm engine into a rwd hilux and
still hasnt got an answer.
I cant see that a rear strut brace would have much effect on a 1600 as it only
has the force of the shock absorber and isnt part of the rear suspension
geometry unlike the front strut. It wouldnt hurt to tie the rear towers to a roll
cage as this would add to the overall stiffness.Ive seen a few 1600's develope
cracks in the rear end.Mainly on rally cars and high hp street cars where the
suspension is pulled to the stops under acceleration.
