Rear strut brace on a 1600? How bizarre, not necessary with the stock fuel
tank and IMHO about as useful as ... well you know. The 1600/180B/710 tank
in it's original position with mounting hardware is integral to the rear
suspension design. Now Zeds, 200B, 910, etc that's a whole different story
as the rear towers float all over the place on them. Interestingly, Stanzas
are built the same way as the 1600.

Cam (hope your bar does well in the US)
On the subject of tower braces, have you thought of offering a steering box
brace with your bar. On the track, you'll notice scrutineering will pay
particular attention to the steering box and idler arm bushes and mounting
points when they spot the brace. It seems that a lot of the stress is moved
downwards when a brace in is place and adjusted correctly. Also, ppl have a
tendency to over tighten them - not necessary. Around 15-20lbs was
recommended by Nissan for the genuine bar on a 1600 from memory in my day.

regards
Terry

Cam,
Keep up the good work mate.
I've actually seen a home-made REAR strut brace that was made of rectangular
hollow section (RHS) and went over the top of the fuel tank and then down
each side.
It might be overkill and not worth the extra weight The rear of a 1600 is
probably a whole lot stiffer than the front which has to enclose the whole
engine bay as a large void.
I thought it might be ideal to make one that can
use the top of it as rollcage mounting points.
Btw I think 4-point rollcages are legal for street use here in WA?
Do any listers know if this is true?
