I'm not much good on new stuff either, the problem with it is there isn't all that much factory reading material around that I have access to like there used to be in our day, and what there is all written in Japanese. I guess they think it's all on the net.
Speaking of turbos, I got hosed off by a Starlet the other day, well it was well over 100 kph before I got on terms with it and he probably would say that he backed off at the speed limit, and it turned out to a Turbo version or so the pretty badge said - not a bad round town performer for such a tiny car. I also had some ricer in a CRX try to run me thru one of my favourite corners yesterday on the way to work, problem is there's a camera been mounted on the intersection which takes a bit of the fun out of it but it's still in an 80k zone and this is a sweeping 90 degree constant radius right hander (Ginninderra Dr onto Aikman Dr) - the CRX was behind me and started off in my right hand mirror, just on the apex it flashed thru the centre mirror and come out the other side half in the lane adjacent and 30 meters behind me - funny really, my 1600 can take that corner (pre-camera days) at 120 kph and still stay in one lane. I would love to have that G force thingy of Andrew's ! on my 1600 thru that corner just for the reading. Zac, I also stand corrected, I know you are a turbo tinkerer. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Terry Rudd" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, 20 November 2002 20:58 PM Subject: RE: t28 turbo performance > Zac, > > I stand corrected. Obviously the Vspec R32 across my back fence hasn't got factory turbos on it then, cause they aren't the same as I've seen them but they both look like T28's. Doesn't surprise me I spose, they must play with these things in Japan before we get them - the present owner assures me that he hasn't touched it. > > BTW this car is mint, and is still for sale $35K will buy it. > > regards > Terry > > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Zac Campbell > Sent: Wednesday, 20 November 2002 8:38 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: t28 turbo performance > > > Sorry Terry and Richard but GT-R aren't sequential, they are simultaneous > twin turbos. > > You're thinking of rx7 13b twin turbo or supra/soarer JZ engines! > > zac > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Terry Rudd" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Sent: Wednesday, November 20, 2002 7:56 PM > Subject: RE: t28 turbo performance > > > > GTiR turbos as in RB26DETT are sequential people and they aint the same > spec - which one have you got? > > > > regards > > Terry > > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Chris King > > Sent: Wednesday, 20 November 2002 9:18 AM > > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Subject: Re: t28 turbo performance > > > > > > Zac, > > I know the guy that sold it to me so he wouldn't bullshit me. > > I was actually asking after a t25 but he said the t28 with smaller turbine > > would do the trick. > > It was off a twin turbo GTR. > > > > Chris King. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Sounds more like a T25! > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: "Chris King" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > Sent: Tuesday, November 19, 2002 8:47 PM > > Subject: t28 turbo performance > > > > > > > Ive purchased a t28 for a L18 project. > > > > > > Its got .48 compressor and a .42 turbine housing. > > > 52mm compressor inlet and is water cooled > > > > > > Anyone got a vague idea how this turbo will perform? > > > It will obviously come on boost early any ideas wether it will hold to > the > > 6 > > > grand red line? > > > > > > For good horsepower would i need to upgrade to something like a .63 > > turbine > > > or larger? > > > > > > Thanks for the help, don't know much about turbo sizing etc. > > > This is basically a learning project and will be my first turbo car. > > > > > > Chris King. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > --membersozdat------------------------------------------------------- OZDAT Mailing List Please Note:- Send (un)subscribe requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Send submissions to [EMAIL PROTECTED] No unauthorised redistribution of this email http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/index.htm http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/listindex.html http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------
