Charger was quicker over the quarter mile. it ran I think 14.1 from the
factory on 70's rubber. GTHO3 ran 14.3 or some such. GTHO had higher top
speed. Although the GTHO won bathurst there was some controversy, they were
using aftermarket spoilers when they weren't exactly legal and they also
used some jacks in the pits that were illegal at the time. Blind eye was
turned though. Much like the bathurst 24hr production car race. The monaro
ran fabricated carbon fibre double wishbones, 120L fuel tank and a Corvette
race motor. The thing was definately not a Production car. Winning bathurst
in no way means you've got the quickest or best car. Brocky won quite
convincingly in a 3.3 litre torana!
