Hello Paul, If you can do jobs like change brake pads etc, then I recon you can do ball joints, I did the job for the first time recently and its not a biggie. My only word of advice would be to buy a ball joint/tie rod seperator tool before you tackle it - it was a real fight for me without one and they are pretty cheap.
