IMO
lifter noise can be hard to distinguish from big end bearing noise. You'll know
when the bearing lets go, but the noise during the lead up can be very
similar!
Bleeding SR lifters is not hard, just gotta pull the cams out, remove
each lifter one by one, poke a nail in the hole and dunk 'em in oil, pump
them a few times, pull the nail out while they're submerged and they come
good.
