Bingo. 30 years ago, I'd farm out jobs that required factory tools, and invariably they'd charge me to mess it up worse than I could have done myself. I learned not to let others touch my cars. Looking back on it, if the issue is not having a factory tool, I should either buy/make the tool or take it to the dealer. My mistake was taking factory tool work to independent specialists.
