Not sure I understand this, but the bottom line is that all these
reports are essentially useless unless you're just looking for
sympathy. If anyone is interested in actually seeing the problem
fixed, we need a bug report including much more detail, including OS
version information, printer model numbers, driver versions, and a
*recipe* that anyone can use to reproduce the problem, and verify that
it has in fact occurred. As I said before, it would be best if the
driver versions were those on an OS CD, and the recipe only involves
printing standard stacks (like the Home stack) from MetaCard (e.g.,
start up MetaCard, choose "print card" to print card 1 of the Home
stack, quit and restart, then get a blank page when when you try to
print that card again).
No work is being done on this problem because we still don't have any
way to reproduce it here (and we've tried just about everything).
This has been the case for months, because the people affected
repeatedly either fail to report the problem at all (and several of
the posts to this list have been from people who hadn't sent in bug
reports for this problem), or fail to provide key information.
Granted, in most cases it's not reproducible on the developer's
machines, only on some customer machines. But your customers are
going to continue to be affected by this problem until we can come up
with some way to reproduce it.
How about we turn this around: does anyone who has an HP printer that
was introduced in the last 6 months *not* have a problem with the
above recipe that only prints card 1 of the MetaCard Home stack?

Scott
