I avoid optical media always if possible due to its high percentage of errors, scratches, and corrosion. If you cant find a drive and are coming to the Doing Tuesday let me know and I can bring a usb hard drive to backup onto. If you can't make that let me know and I can swing around your neck of the woods with some hardware.
Probably can't make it Tuesday and I have a Tb USB drive I can use - DVDs are just way cheaper (well, not at this rate!) and an easy shot. I will try attaching the Tb drive shortly. For this purpose though, I wasn't concerned about optical - though maybe I should have been. JC
