Ok, but at what price tag?? Ebay has like 3 offerings of the LS3 (only one LS7)... but oodles of the others. But the prices??
$4800 - 325hp LS1 setup w/T56 ($14.76/hp)
$7000 - 400hp LS2 setup w/T56 ($17.50/hp)
$7300 - 429hp (so the ad said, not 436) LS3 engine only ($17.01/hp plus you
need the tranny)
$8400 - 405hp LS6 setup w/T56 ($20.74/hp)
$14200 - 505hp LS7 engine only ($28.11/hp plus you need wiring, ECU and
tranny)
Still seems like the LS1 plus bolt ons is a better route for the $$, but
there is something to be said for just dropping in 400+hp without screwing
around with addons. Still, it IS a Miata, so at a certain point it's
moot.. an LS7 I would imagine is damn near undriveable at WOT, so why
bother? You can make a perfectly undriveable LS1 for cheap. :)

LS3 makes more power than the LS6. :-) 436 vs. 405.

What's the going rate for the LS1 setup, $4k for the entire driveline with
ECU/wiring? I think I saw an LS6 setup for $8-9k once... ouch. Makes my 302
look free. ;)

LS>1's are very expensive in the recycling world currently. They aren't
used in vehicles that had the volume of F-bodies. For less than the in
pricedifference to the LS1, you can easily exceed the newer engines power
level with simple mods.

Can you imagine using an LS3? :-)
Alas, not much of a junk-yard engine yet.

So, at the end of the day, would you recommend the Racing Concepts kit?
I took a cruise through your build blog and it looks pretty nice.
I have a friend who a) already has an LS1 powered FD, and b) has another
LS1 on the shelf waiting for for a project to materialize.
He's thinking NB. ;)
