On the crate motor:
I met a guy (Keith Turk, some of you may know him) who runs at Bonneville. He ran very expensive small blocks in a 1980 Camaro. You may have seen the car in Hot Rod Mag as that is one of his sponsors. He gets surplus parts from NASCAR teams, things like radiators, etc. He had some small blocks with well over $20k invested. A while back a friend of his and fellow Bonneville guy passed away. He wanted to run the next year but didn't get to invest the time into prep like he had in previous years. So, he decided to just get a big block crate motor so he could run 200+MPH without having to spend the time and money in very high dollar small block motors. He spent a fraction of what he usually spent on motors. Well, with that crate motor he ran the fastest he had ever run. There is a lot to be said for those crate motors. _______________________________________________ Miatapower mailing list [email protected] http://list.miatapower.net/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/miatapower
