Can't agree on that one. I had a 2nd gen turbo (10 AE) and Teri's Rabbit
Cabrio would run circles around it through the twisties. Back when these
cars weren't old I had a customer with a convertible 2nd gen. I think I
spent a week chasing rattles, just too much hard plastic, etc.

I am not sure what Bill specifically means by rattle traps...any car
that old seems to develop lots of things that need to be tightened up or
replaced. I consider all of my Mazdas rattle traps at this point...1990
& 1994 Miatas and 1993 RX-7...

A good friend of mine is a 2nd gen guru. He put a Turbo-II driveline in
his 'vert. Very nice. That is how that car should have been equipped
from the factory (the extra weight for the bracing makes the N/A version
less entertaining than a non-convertible with the same motor).

It's no Miata in terms of overall weight but it is plenty zippy, handles
similarly to a Miata (having driven a FC track car) and a bit roomier in
the cabin.
