I disagree on the fuel savings...

If you are coasting in gear, the injectors are shut off and no fuel is
consumed. If you are coasting in neutral, the engine is idling, and you are
burning fuel. The difference is how much engine drag is caused and does it
prevent you from maintaining speed.

Shutting off engine as you coast in neutral is a really bad idea as also
lose your source of vacuum for braking.
