engagements at the Apollo Theater in Harlem.
1956 – Elvis opens his ill-fated two-week engagement at the New
Frontier Hotel in Las Vegas, opening for comedian Shecky Greene.
Presley is cancelled after one week.
1957 – Patti Page releases her single, “Old Cape Cod” b/w “Wondering.”
1960 – John Lennon and Paul McCartney perform as The Nerk Twins at The
Fox and Hounds pub in Caversham, Berkshire, which is owned by Paul's
cousin, Bett.
1962 – Tony Sheridan releases his single "My Bonnie" b/w "The Saints,"
marking the first appearance of The Beatles (featuring Pete Best) on
record, albeit credited as The Beat Brothers.
