If it's a matter of cost, I've got some old 433's sitting on the shelf that
I'll sell you dirt cheap. We only use 493G's at our towers so we use the 433's
for testing new setups/configs and we'll never deploy them again, but they are
in good shape and work perfectly. Friends don't let friends run unrouted
networks. :)

Agreed. It's better to do it now and not need it than to need it later and not
have it.

I only install routers. There's only one switch that's outside of my NOC and
it's at a micro-POP.

Subject: [Mikrotik Users] tower routing suggestion

So trying to plan a routed solution for a part of my network. Basically at the
far end of the network I have a rural tower with 33 subs currently with 2
routes into it. I also have another tower 3 miles away in a small town with
about the same amount of clients. That 2 nd tower feeds off of the first with
no other routes and really no hope of that tower feeding another site. My
question is would you install a router at this 2 nd site? Since we are not
routed now I cant see a big benefit to it, other than a closer point for auth
and traffic shaping, though with 60 plus subs I cant see that being an issue
with a good router at the first. Anyways just looking for any insight

Thanks

Heith
