Others have talked about it, but I think none have come close to the
in depth discovery and understanding of Joseph Campbell.
In ‘The Masks of God’ he documented it to have existed as an archetype
in the subconscious mind of mankind since the beginning of
civilization.
The Dream of Utopia has been the guide of mankind’s development. It’s
the root of benevolence and philanthropy. It inspires science to
realize dreams.

The p.s. kid says, “What’s the Point, and I believe he’s sincere and
not just trying to stir up shit.
I was walking down the street and a young dude asked for a cigarette.
“No man, I don’t smoke.” And then half jokingly, “Don’t you know that
stuff’ll stunt your growth?” he looked long and hard into my eyes, and
I like to think he saw a true bit of concern. I saw true hopelessness
as he said, “I don’t care.”
It’s not the first time I’ve seen it in our young people. I hate to
say it but it’s almost common. The rare ones you see that are
optimistic most likely have that edge of superiority which supports
greed and allows deceit for one’s own good.

I’ve been hot on the trail of the dream of utopia for thirty seven
years. At the age of twenty I got commissioned to the mission from God
when I was sitting in a jail cell looking at 25 to Life. I found this
poem and then the little New Testament with the red words of the man
pounding on the Kingdom being at hand.

There is Magic in believing
Let us keep our faith aglow
The tomorrow we’re awaiting
May be closer than we know.

There is magic in believing
Let us walk in humble trust
The shadows cannot linger
Dawn is near and come it must.

The sun a constant miracle
Has never failed to rise
Impossible is not word
That God would recognize

I’ve been through all the crap the religions sell for you to believe
in. They’re all selling escapism. They all deny Life as being the
reason for our existence. “It’s something greater,” they say.
And every single one of them says it from and with the force of Life
that they claim to be at least second rate if not totally irrelevant.
Fact; Life is here and now.
Fact; Higher forms of Life have a brain.
Fact; Brains produce energy that we call the mind.
Fact; The human mind is capable of imagining/believing anything.
NO fact; Any spiritual belief of any person on Earth. There is not one
shred of evidence, only believing. There are no two dogmas that
coincide and the individual’s belief, even following the same dogma,
is as varied as the individuals.

So, who’s right? Is it one out of the jumbled clusterfuck of spiritual
beliefs? Or is it the Fact, that Life IS here and now.
The ‘Dream of Utopia’ points at Life, not some spiritual other shit.
That’s why I ask if it’s dead.
