Despite being an atheist, I've never really had a problem with people
bashing "us". In a sense, all they're bashing is their own inability to come
up with worthwhile evidence for the existence of their chosen deity. You'd
think in ~100,000 years of religion -- since the days of *homo sapien
neanderthalensis* -- someone would have come up with some good proof.

Back to the point, though...

I am absolutely against any kind of protectionism when it comes to the
debate of human ideas. If Cardinal McCormack thinks atheists are less than
human, then he should say so. Of course, my motives for allowing him to say
such things aren't pure: I love that the evil old bigot showed the Church up
for the vile and intolerant institution that it is and always will be.

And remember, in the UK and Irelend these people run our schools...
