One of the long standing misconceptions about atheism as a generality is
that atheists "believe" there is no God. While this may be true for some
atheists, it is not a hard and fast rule. Atheism is simply the absence of
belief in a deity. I have no hard core belief that there is no such thing as
a universal deity. I am open to the idea of such. I have simply found no
reason to believe in one. It's primarily the Theists who force such
assumptions to be universally true about Atheists.
