Here's something I find slightly overly humorous and remotely related
to the theme of apologetics: Today's Financial Times, recounting
Obama's meet with Putin yesterday said this: "Earlier, Mr Obama had
breakfast with Mr Putin who retains effective power even after being
succeeded as president by Dmitry Medvedev. After drawing a sharp
rebuke from Mr Putin for comments made before his arrival (Obama had
said Putin had one foot back in the Cold War era), Mr Obama praised Mr
Putin for his “extraordinary work” at the start of the meeting. But
the two men were visibly awkward before the cameras and Mr Putin
mostly avoided eye contact with Mr Obama."

Avoided eye contact? Maybe because he was intimidated by BO's
height? Maybe it was his own hangup about being short? Maybe because
he knew he'd become mesmerized like so many others? Maybe because,
unlike Bush, Putin thought that Obama might really be able to look
into his soul. (I think Bush may have been seeing his own reflection
in Putin's eyes, eh?)
