I agree with you there,,  it has decreased in my life time..

 I think it is mainly due to the rich getting the concept that a corporation
is a person with all of its rights as a person plus the super vote.

The truth is Bush was and is not smart enough or politically astute enough
to get himself appointed..  He is also the type of person that tries and buy
their friends so he was very manipulatable so the people that were able to
get him appointed were able to do so..
