Yes I can almost agree with this Pat, although I would not call such a thing energy at all but spirit and so I still find myself disagreeing with your conclusion that not all energy is matter. I too have had my experiances, I would not call these things we know as ghosts energy though, indeed in that tale of xmas and carols and redemption, it is the spirt of Jacob Marley we meet, not the enregy of the miserly fellow.
