good point, Slip. It might be as simple as those who want it following those who have it or seem to have it. Those who follow may bounce between who they follow, but until they figure it out for themselves and give up the following, it will not happen for them. Prayer, in this case, may be an inner petition for the possibility of inspiration. Discovering our relationship to our experience is a lifelong journey that begins from birth. If we are lucky, our parents provide us the safety rails for testing and exploring the world until we have enough of a mastery of our own experience to, as you say create the conditions necessary for success in our experience. We can learn this through adversity later in life, but those are lessons hard learned for sure. Under these circumstances, prayers for strength, I've found, come in handy.
