I agree with your assessment of Al's statement, given it's time in
history.  When he made that statement I was in the midst of practicing
duck and cover in school and at home.  The whole world was paranoid.
I think we realized that we finally had the power to exterminate
ourselves.  I'm just glad he was wrong on this point.
