I'd never read Churchill's Iron Curtain speech. It is, flowery speech and accolades aside, a significant statement of a period in our history when we were very much in turmoil -- mental, emotional and spiritual -- and Winston gave the developed world an anchor or spit of land upon which to thrust ourselves forward.
