Hey RP. You may call it invention, I will call it instead educated guesswork in order to iron out the contradictions in religous dogma.
I belive in God, I don't belive in 'one true way', indeed I think that a loving God would provide as many wasy to God as God has provided 'mindsest' in humanity. So view this as I do, an attempt to clarify the contradictions inhereant in many of the worlds religioins. We are told in some faiths that God is all pervading. What does this mean? We are also told that only humans can come to God. In the light of the above, which is true, which is false? If as you say the soul/spirt of God pervades all then that must include animals, yet we told (for want of a better description) that animals cannot enter heaven.
