I am sure there is a reasonable explanation for each of those questions,
or to an example of each, but my answer to that would be lacking. What
interests me now is that you and others ask such a question, the only
response that comes to mind is that nature will always challenge us and
we will be driven to overcome, because we are aware. It will eat at us
until we do, and we are still here.

Dear participants of this discussion. I have to admit that much of the
things you discuss in this discussion are over my head. What I think
I got from the discussion so far is that as far as "knowledge" is
concerned, or a lack of it, or a distortion of it shows more negative
aspects than positive ones. The other thing I got from the discussion
is that politics has turned out more bad than good - thanks to greed.
What about religion? Why is our concept of god so negative? Why have
we pictured our gods as cruel and jealous and perverse? What about
nature? Why does it seem perverse in the fact that the more we want
something, the more it evades us? Why does time seem to slow down when
we would rather it went by quickly? Why does time speed up when we
want to relish a moment and wish time to slow down?. Why do many
children show signs of cruelty to animals? Why is our history filled
with unbelievable violence, especially to our fellow humans? Why does
power corrupt? and greed prevail? Why is it that so many harmfull
habits are addictive? Why is man so perverse?

Why do so many of us remember negative feelings easier than
positive ones. Pain over pleasure. Bad news over good news. Why
does "bad" overshadow "good", immorality over morality, despair
over hope, pessimism over optimism. Why does hate appear to be
more powerful than love? Why is greed louder than generosity. Why
is destruction of war so much faster than the building power of
peace. Why can one little lie destroy a lifetime of trust. Why are
lies more influential than truth. It all seems so one sided. Why
is that?
