Cheaper way would be to buy N800 or N810 for about $200 or even less than that.
Maemo port of Mnemosyne is almost ready and already usable to some
extent. At least developers are using it :)
It should be also possible to run it on Nokia770(haven't tried it yet,
but shouldn't be too hard to fix possible issues), which is even
cheaper.
