[Ham] As I understand the MoQ's interpretation of Intellect, it is not a human attribute but some abstract level of Quality that is apprehended by humans at an appropriate stage of their development.
[Arlo] Not in any way. According to (my understanding of) the MOQ, the "intellectual level" emerges from social activity. It was not sitting there waiting to be apprehended, but an evolutionary/emergent level of static patterns, which derive from- but are greater than- social collective activity. Of course these levels, once emerged, enact coercion on the levels from which they derive. Biological patterns influence the behavior of their inorganic components. Social patterns influence the behavior of their biological construents. And intellectual patterns influence the behavior of their social-level foundations. In this way, as any biological human is socialized, s/he appropriates the customs and ideas of her/his culture, which exacts great influence on the customs and ideas of this emerging "individual". I'd say part of your misunderstanding is in the presentation that all this is "isolated man and Eternal Essence". In this, of course, it would be ridiculous to suppose that Intellect is floating around waiting for isolated-man to apprehend it. Understanding and recognizing the role of human collective and social activity overcomes this dilemma. But that's an old can of worms, no point in rehashing.
