SA: First off, who said I had apathy? I'm very
energetic when it comes to what I believe in. Just
cause I don't vote, doesn't mean I'm apathetic. Now
when it comes to voting, I am apathetic. By not
voting I believe I keep my honor for what I believe
in. I don't think a republic can lead people without
a certain elitism and/or celebrity mentality taking
over. Now, maybe if this was a more true democracy
where we had a hand in what happens, instead of giving
up our power to statistical hand-full of people my
mind might change. I'm glad your actually putting
thought into this Arlo, even if we may disagree on
certain points. Calling somebody a dumbass right off
the bat isn't going to make people run to the polls
unless somebody is used to whipping slaves.

Arlo:
> Now, let's hypothesize and say in the next election
> only 40% of the

SA: People in the mainstream culture might
begin to talk more often about why many people don't
vote. The non-voter issues might be brought to the
table. For now, everybodies funneled through the
popular one in the metaphorical high school classroom.

Arlo:

SA: Maybe I'm rebeling from without. Maybe though,
this political machine in mainstream culture today is
building up anomalies and doesn't know what to do with
them in their experiment. Maybe its' time to change
the system, but I don't see one canadiate, and haven't
since I've been born that has changed anything about
the established institution. The grips just get more
numerous. The rich candidate takes office. The
numerous taxes stick around and grow in number.
Corporations hold the key of power. And what do they
have to do with my daily life anymore. My day to day
living is so out of touch with what Washington does,
and the only way Washington tries to do anything is
make more policies. Washington should disappear for a
little bit and just watch the horizons for any enemies
on the horizon. When will people think for
themselves?

    [Arlo]
> Not voting only means an ever-shrinking minority

SA: Republic, not democracy. Why do people insist
this is a democracy all the time? Ron had a good
point about the electoral college, too.

Arlo:

SA: I care. I'm in society caring everyday for
people. Just cause somebody votes they think their
doing some kind of major humanitarian, doctors work.
Get your hands dirty for a little bit and go into
society instead of side stepping where the problems
exist. Apply ideas instead of voting for somebody
else to apply things for ya. Not you personally Arlo,
for I don't know what you do on your daily whims.

Arlo:
> Don't tell people not to vote, tell them to care. A
> majority not
> voting is a lose situation. A majority caring will
> bring change.

SA: Vote=caring in your book. That's
oversimplifying 'things' a bit I think.
