I can see I will have to read Harris. I think there is "moderate" and then there is "moderate". The first time I heard Harris debate he said, on air, (and I quote) "nuke the bastards" in response to religious fundamentalists ... which kinda set the tone. "Strong views, lightly held" is an expression I prefer. Which is why I mentioned the agnostic vs atheist point. Having a strong view about the existence of god and the value of faith is very important ... ignorance is the killer .... and it's important to express that position whatever the politcal correctness; agreed. The actions one takes or recommends based on that position are a pragmatic matter though, no ?
