SA: Yes. I don't think the analogy called dynamic
came along until Lila. I would say that when Pirsig
refers to Quality being undefined, and all static
patterns are "less than the One", this undefined
Pirsig is referring to is what he eventually called
dynamic quality.

SA: Yes, the definition of analogy I'm referring to
is "tightly connected to the quality event". Once the
quality event occurs, then static patterns happen and
these patterns are analogies of dq. As the quote
mentioned though, these analogies/things of dq "...no
matter what thing you use to define it, the thing will
always describe
something less than the One itself." This moral
description is the code of art, also known as dynamic
morality. Each level/pattern is another "thing"
defining quality, and each level is dq and sq. Thus,
on the intellectual level a quality event happens. On
the social level a quality event happens. On the
biological, etc... Any sq trying to define the code
of art on each level is "less than the One itself",
less than the dq itself that each pattern/level
directly experiences unto its' own. A quote of this
dq and sq on each level as follows [Lila; Ch. 11]:
"This division of all biological evolutionary
patterns into a Dynamic function and a static function
continues on up through higher levels of evolution."
SA continues: This dq and sq "function" are still
ritualized by the code of art on each level.
Magnus:

SA: Magnus, thank you for the compliment. I'm glad
you stepped back into the forum when you did. I
wouldn't say "defining things so strictly" is
necessarily "a bore". I really enjoy your posts.
They are a good northern wind waking people up! By
the way, how cold is it where you live now? Lots of
snow? Just curious.
snow laying here,
icy blue morning sky,
