I think it's a mistake to claim that mind and matter don't retain their 
metaphysical capacity inside the MOQ. Pirsig denies that assertion in  
"Lila's Child." 

"As far as I know the MOQ does not trash the SOM.  It  contains the SOM 
within a larger system.  The only thing it trashes is the SOM assertion 
that values are unreal." (LC -Note 135)

IMO the umbrella of MOQ Quality includes as subsets all intellectual 
realities, judging some to be better (more explanatory with  more 
'metaphysical capacity" ) than others.
