Platt:

I'm glad to see you vigorously supporting American cultural values,
especially free market capitalism and social/intellect freedom. I
couldn't
agree with you more. Our argument, if any, is over the meaning and
practice
of multiculturalism. My view is well expressed in Wikipedia under
"Opposition to multiculturalism" in the U.S:

"In the United States especially, multiculturalism became associated
with political
correctness <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_correctness> and
with
the rise of ethnic identity
politics<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Identity_politics>.
In the 1980s and 1990s many criticisms were expressed, from both the
left
and right. Criticisms come from a wide variety of perspectives, but
predominantly from the perspective of liberal
individualism<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberalism>,
from American conservatives
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conservatism>concerned about values, and
from a national unity perspective."

Ron:
Then I got you right Platt, the SOM culture conflict is what this is all
about. I think what needs to be emphasized in this discussion is that
none
of us buys it. It's what makes us MoQers. But the reality of it is that
most of the country DOES buy it. which makes it dangerous and a crisis.
My hope is if we can keep this in the foreground of our discussions
then maybe we might come up with some possible solutions.

Thanks for clearing that up Platt.
