Actually Marsha, you got me started ...

This is why we need "conversations" as well as difficult arguments ...
to establish these things.

If someone's first post on a discussion forum was an incredible claim
that "The traffic lights turn blue tomorrow." You would have to assume
some rhetorical trick ... or that their word was not to be trusted
literally.

It would be much easier to work out where to place that trust, if
there had been a history of conversations where you'd established that
the person was likely to be a Hendrix fan and one who indulged in
rhetorical games.

It's also one reason why virtual worlds are valuable, because if you
know the world is virtual, you can learn these things faster by taking
greater risks with less tangible downside, when exhibiting less
credible behaviour - flirting, testing each other out, in more
outrageous ways, etc ...

Is that so?

I had an experience of removing my shell, and realized we all carry around really heavy shells to protect us. Mostly to protect us from imaginary fear. And mostly fear of each other. Death by burning cheeks!

What kind of flirting would it be if I weren't looking into your eyes. I haven't lost my senses yet.
