I also liked you mentioning Buddhist -inspired music??? I received, as a
gift a small (call it MP3) thing with monks singing mantras on it, from a
Buddhist priest out here somewhere in whoop-whoop, along the centuries old
Tea- route.
He also gave me a rock both of which I will cherish for the rest of my
life.( and I am not even a Buddhist...it is a contradictio in terminis). One
of the mantras sung in this little thing, which you can hang around your
neck, I hear very often outside my window...it is when a funeral procession
is passing by. It is a haunting tune and I really like it.
When I was young I really liked List's(?) Marche Funebre and wanted to by it
in the record store. They looked at me real funny. They didn't have it.
Can you direct me to this music Marsha? Is there a site from which to
download...maybe.
Andre,
I am not familiar with the Liszt's Marche Funebre, and neither am I
familiar with your taste in classical music. You might search the
iTunes store, or Amazon's music section. There might be an orchestra
and/or conductor you prefer. Or there might be a particular soloist
or instrument? I'm not sure what would please you. I download onto
my iPod either from an original cd, or from the iTunes store, or
Amazon. I have a large collection of classical cd's and I use this
primarily for my iPod. You could just search: 'Liszt Funebre
mp3', and see if anything looks interesting. I do not, though,
normally download from unproven sources.
I am sorry I haven't been more helpful.
Marsha
p.s. I will get back to you concerning patterns. I will want to try
to compose my statements carefully, else I will confuse us both with
my language.
