You seem to be missing the word _referent_. An inorganic spov is a
conventional, conceptual construct that refers to external phenomenon
(that which you are calling the universe). Our senses are too
limited, and our interpretation of sense experience too limited to
say exactly what is that which you are calling the universe. That is
why it is 'conventionally' understood. Quality is indivisible,
undefinable and unknowable.

I see your point, but I'm afraid we talk past each other. If we accept the
concept/non-concept (which is a S/O variant) as absolute we are back
in SOM-land.
Think of concept/non-concept as sq/DQ.
The closing of eyes exercise (why not dreams?) and
imaging things also takes place at the bio. level, without the animals
knowing it to be "imaginary".
I've only stated that spovs (conventional, conceptual constructs) may
have an aspect that is beyond language, like visual or
auditory. There is sensual experience and there is the memory of
sensual experience. (Pink elephants and rope seen as a snake is
another matter.) Have you ever had an experience as an animal other
than human? No? Then any knowing of it is conceptual speculation.
As did social level people, but here
dreams for instance were messages from whatever ruled their
existence, and visualizing things could alter the course of events - a
magic existence. It was intellect that made these imaginary ..whatever
to JUST take place in a subjective (non-existent) realm without any
connection or impact in the objective realm that went its course
governed by natural laws.
