I have read some good things in the last few days in the forum, and don't quite know which one to respond to. In my humble opinion, the only way to understand MoQ is to live it. This has been true with all the metaphysical systems proposed, including some lasting ones such as Buddhism, Taoism, Hinduism (as it differs from Buddhism), and yes, I include, Christianity, Islam, Judaism, atheism, and modern science. The words and attempt at logic are simply road signs and arrows showing what road to get on. A clear set of instructions on how to get on the MoQ road are essential to share the experience of this system of thought. These are provided in a cursory way in ZMM and Lila, and can certainly be made into more detail to aid on the voyage. I am waiting for Pirsig to provide some insight into how his world view translates into his everyday life.
Science is no less metaphysical than MoQ, and is based completely on faith. It is a system which is easy to live and share, but for some not appropriate, or lacking. If you believe in MoQ, it should directly translate into your actions, and not be some side project in between the SOM scientific living. If it is viewed merely intellectually, then it is like an art critic explaining a painting by breaking it down into labels, which is completely different from experiencing the painting. Good luck in your adventures living this metaphysical system of thought, hope it works for you. Keep the road signs coming so that I may join you.
