> I don't know about the US, but I just hate the affirmative action as
promoted by the govt of india. Basically all upper caste hindus(though our
generation doesn't care a hoot) are treated like scum and have to go through
an education system that is totally unfair to them. My passing grade and fee
has to be way more than some rich kid whose one parent could be from some
supposedly backward caste..that is one reason why I'll always find ways of
settling down in some other country..though that could mean I'll be treated
like a 2nd rate citizen. 90% of the indian population are covered by govt
reservation both in *private educational institutes and in govt jobs..and
those moronic politicians wanted to extend it to the private sector..wtf!
The funny part is hindus who converted to Christianity to escape the caste
system are also covered by this heinous scheme. religious minority , social
minority, economic backward the list goes on.. I hope the US never goes down
that path and maintain merit as the only standard for securing a job. And if
it all there is discrimination fire the decision makers not 3rd or 4th
generation citizens...I do believe US is one of the most moral correct
countries wrt upholding human rights.
sorry for the diversion..just couldn't help..something that I felt strongly
about...
