Ron:
Which is a static intellectual concept about experience.
(a high quality one) but if you take that statement as
objectivily true.......
see what I mean?

Andre:
Ron, whenever I am in this frame of mind I am beginning to create things
which confuse me even more and I'll have to guess and hope I am on the right
track. Well, with trying to understand the MoQ I want to keep the guess work
to a minimum and hope I have forsaken long ago.
So please spell it out and keep it simple.

Ron:
If the theory of evolution is a static intellectual concept about experience,
then the four levels are a static intellectual concept about experience.
Therefore the four levels emerge from the intellectual level which
differentiates
and defines experience. The intellectual level may divide experience in many
ways.
It sounds odd, I know. But evolution is SOM. The theory has only been around
for about 150yrs but it explained experience much better than creationism.
Explain evolution in terms of value, and you have expanded that understanding
immensly.
Is it Fact? well no, truthfully speaking we have no way of really knowing
anything
before and beyond the now of immediate experience with any sort of certainty
it's simply the highest quality explaination at the moment one thats more
inclusive
and has a broader range.

One of the main problems I have with Bo's SOL is that
it only recognizes SOM as the highest quality intellectual pattern.

There are many high quality intellectual patterns, in fact Pirsig
takes the highest from east and west, from native american and other cultures,
and calls it the MoQ, The metaphysics of Quality will always endeavor
to be a collection of the highest intellectual patterns, WHAT
those patterns ARE varies and changes depending on their value.
Continuing the legacy of the dogmatic view that SOM IS the
intellectual level doesent further the idea of a collection of high quality
intellectual patterns as a "metaphysics of Quality" one bit.

In fact it simply furthers SOM and it's dogma as absolute by stating
that evolution is the truth and Pirsigs interpetation (via Bo) of it is reality.

It goes against the entire theme of RMP's work, that scientific dogma
is an illusion and not realizing this creates paradox, ie:stuckness, gumption
traps, blind spots.
