The thing is Platt, we don't seem to pick on the real villians in these little "police actions", we don't challenge China in Tibet, we don't attack the Russians when they invade an ally, but hey, impoverished villagers that don't own any tanks? Fair game. I've always hated bullies.
And I don't just feel sorry for the natives in this equation. Many a western army has been torn to pieces in them thar hills and the Taliban looks forward to our sending more targets to their country so they can feel ennobled by death or victory in battle with the great Satan. At the end of the day, what do we get out of it? What do we tell mothers who mourn? Soldiers whose bodies are maimed? If this dialogue is going to go forward, you're gonna have to end up defending Obama's military acumen. Hmmm... Of course, Obama is, by Andre's definition, a "Plattanoid" so maybe that's not so far fetched.
