[Platt] Note: These guys were atheists. [Arlo] Which only demonstrates your ongoing sophomoric pandering to wingnut rhetoric.
More have died in human history "in the name of god" than we can likely ever tally. Note: The guys responsible for the Amerindian genocides were "Christians". Of course, there have been countless theists and atheists who pursue peace. All this proves is that theists and atheists alike can commit either horrible acts of violence, or do good. How about a murderer is a murderer, and can find justification anywhere? How about structures of power, whether theist or atheist, can foster and condone war, murder, genocide and other acts of horror? How about is the sheep who are more interested in "being a team player" than doing what is right that allow these despotic power structures to grow? Indeed, whether you call it patriotism, nationalism or theocracism, the problem is ALWAYS the blind obedience and zombie-like chanting for those in power. Or is that not wingnut enough for you? Doesn't spread ideological fear the way you'd like?
