Dan: Right. You could say a map corresponds to the territory and indeed that's the purpose of a map. But it is important to remember that the territory changes constantly... rivers change their banks, islands rise and sink, coast lines continually erode.. so the map is never, ever the territory. It only corresponds to the territory when it is useful. On a side note, I want to say how great it is to have had the opportunity over the years to have gotten to know you, Dave. I don't mean personally. I mean intellectually. I think we joined the MOQ discussion about the same time back in 1998. And we don't always agree on things but all in all I can't think of anyone I agree with more when it comes to the MOQ. And I am deeply impressed at how much your thinking has grown and evolved over the years. On the other hand, there are contributors here who are the same people they were when I joined the group a dozen years ago. Go back and read the archives if you don't believe me. They know who they are. I don't have to name names. And I know we all have our reasons for being here. Chit chat is fine if that is what you value. But then why disturb, denigrate, and mock those of us here who have a genuine interest in learning and furthering the MOQ. Time to grow up. Wouldn't you say?
