No, but it appears he over estimated his readers in some cases. He would have done better to make his position more explicit, but it is clear that like all people that get accused of being socialists in the US today that what is best is some sort of mixed economy that finds the right static-dynamic balance. No one who is taken seriously wants government ownership of the means of production. Modern liberals respect the importance of free markets but see the need for regulation. They don't think corporations are people, but instead think that corporations and all institutions exist to serve the people. Do you think corporations are people?
