Arlo, I take your corrections to heart. You have demonstrated to me and others that the transcendent is "alive and well" in the hearts and minds of some (or many) members of this forum. The instances you offered were beneficial to me and served to unseat the quite transparent chip on my shoulder. And in doing so, you remained gracious and charitable. David, I apologize if I "accused" you of "supporting" or "affirming" the mistaken premise I threw out there. I did feel that the RMP quotes you cited affirmed that rituals are not wrong in themselves and can indeed engage the believer in Dynamic experiences. They can also, as you observe, become obstacles to a Dynamic experience. But I do feel that your previous reply and this one are "supportive" of me as a person to whom you are willing to offer helpful insights, and they are "affirmative" of the Dynamic values toward which we aspire.
