Hi all!

"Quality does not require special ritual." But ritual, Christian or non
Christian, is one way of allowing experience of DQ. It is SQ, and yet may make
mystery present. Participation in the mystery opens to the DQ/Transcendent even
if for a few moments. There are other ways and in many places other than
chapels and ashrams and private rooms. And, oh, ritual does not guarantee
experience of DQ. Meditation does not always lead to contemplation. DQ is
experienced in welding shops and mountain tops, and bath tubs even. A "Red"
Bishop Pedro Casaldaliga advises Abraham: "Abraham, Abraham, don't count the
stars. Just gaze . . . ."

Bible thumping, theistic, atheistic, agnostic proselytizing, or ramming down
religion in throats is out of place in this forum, yes. But sharing experiences
of SQ and DQ of whatever kind to catalyze critical thinking is okay, I think. I
trust people will know when to stop participating in a thread. Besides, we have
Horse to moderate.

Paco

May Yahweh let  his face shine on you, and be gracious to you!
May Yahweh look kindly on you, and give you his peace!  (Num. 6:24-26)
