Christ, It's a good thing the third wife has been away this weekend at a National Guide Dog for the Blind training school (with her new minature poodle) as she would have realised my manic laughter caused by DMB's latest post (pasted below) was even a little bit more manic than usual.
Hopefully by Monday (with the usual exhaustive Sunday lie-in with wife number one) I will have calmed down enough to sound relatively normal. It's also a good thing wife number two is here so she can concoct a good story for why I won't be going round for Sunday Dinner with my folks. They don't like me as it is without me cracking-up throughout one of their carefully prepared dinners... Too close to call! Ant Andre related to John Carl March 1st 2014: And here Anthony tells us the trials and tribulations he has with his three wives...which inspired me to suggest the following: I have finally taken up the courage to present the MoQ in a public forum. People of note have been invited to attend and lo and behold: they are there. I'm a bit nervous and start the lecture on the shortfalls of SOM philosophies. Their attention is roused and I am about to launch into the MoQ proper when...oh no...I have to have a shit! ----cut---- DMB then hilariously misquoted Pirsig on the topic!: "The 'value' that holds a porcelain toilet bowl together and the 'value' that holds a philosophy lecture together are obviously not the same thing. Therefore to say that the world is nothing but value is just confusing, not clarifying. Now this vagueness is removed by sorting out values according to levels of evolution. The value that holds a toilet bowl together is an inorganic pattern of value. The value that holds a lecture together is an intellectual pattern of value. They are completely different from each other because they are at different evolutionary levels. And they are completely different from the biological pattern that can cause the most sceptical of intellectuals to leap onto the toilet bowl." (Pirsig, LILA, Chapter 12) .
